OFF TO BOOTCAMP.........Just kidding!!

I thank the Lord so much for the beautiful weather this past weekend when I was at camp. I was initially a little worried that it would rain really hard as forecasted. Thank God that He held up the rain until Sunday night when we have already gotten back from the trip =) To clue you all in, I volunteered to be counselor for a youth leadership camp this summer. This camping trip was like a orientation for the counselors. It was a wonderful experience, I got a chance to make a lot of new friendships. We also had a bunch of workshops on decision-making, personality, history of the camp, problem-solving etc.,All of which were very valuable. I think I had the most fun at the cooking part =) Let' s just say we had to improvise A LOT...heheh =) But the other groups can really cook up some good food man.....One group even made the "red bean pudding" for dessert. Wow.....=) The camp fire was really nice too, we had a lot of fun doing those skits, the cheers and of course, the singing.

I think the toughest experience there though was actually adjusting to the environment. I woke up in the middle of the night and suddenly felt really uncomfortable. The tent was quite small the only thing I was able to stare at was the orange polyester roof of the tent. I felt so cooped up. It was the most uncomfortable feeling in the world, I wanted to scream!! Although I told myself it was alright, it still hasn't helped. So I got up and decided to walk around outside to calm myself down abit. As I made my way outside of the tent, my friend woke up beside me and insisted on accompanying me to make sure I was alright. How nice of her! and I was glad she did so. Since the bathroom was really far away and it was literally pitch black, I made a small trip out back in the forest. (heheh) We then headed back inside the tent and talked about everything. Renee was so nice! argh!! I then gave sleep another try....and it worked! However....I woke up again in the middle of the night feeling uneasy again but this time I opened a window (well, unzipped this part of the tent protected by a mesh) and looked out there to cool things off. Then the outside was so still that it started to look like wallpaper to me. It reminded me of that Jim Carrey movie, "The Truman Show" when Jim traveled to the very end of the sea and found out it was just a wallpaper/bluescreen. Dang! I need some adjusting! It was my first time at camping over a year.

In conclusion, I think I"m claustrophobic and most importantly, No beer and T.V makes Peggy go crazy!! Well, exept for the beer part =) During that ordeal, I was also thinking about the adjustments I'm going to have to make when I head to Phoenix Arizona for my mission trip. Though it sounds easy, its going to be tough. I hope I can gain your support through prayer and whatever it is you've been called to do. Thanks y'all! =)
